This instrumental track is lifted from the album “Of Stars and Stones” by myself and Inga Lilejestrom. One of the source sounds is a wire fence I found, singing away in the wind atop a derelict dam wall. You can hear birds calling from time to time in the recording I made right there on a mobile phone. Elsewhere, wine glasses were played and manipulated in the studio. I played baritone guitar over the top.

A musing on the powers of the ocean, as suggested by one S5. This is an interplay of four electric guitars and the humble DAW capabilities of a free version of one companies flagship software. It’s one of my favourite efforts. It’s very much how I feel sometimes. Thanks again to the late Daevid Allen for showing me how to do that glissando guitar method.

One C6 tuned Emmons push/pull pedal steel and a Big Blue Sky.

Improvised theme for the 2006 short film, “Single White Farmer”, starring Barry Otto and directed by Tristan Pemberton

A drone from an old guitar synth and a slightly off kilter ukulele. It’s of the NW of Tasmania. The quiet.

Reverb drones, ebowed baritones and the clang of a three sided firebrand.

Solo piano - not my main instrument, but I often wish it was.

This track was featured in the TV miniseries, “The Beautiful Lie” starring Sarah Snook. It was a collaboration with composer for the series, Alan John. In addition to this, I was the location music consultant as well as the manager/operator of the on-set recording studio that captured real-time performances of NZ folk singing great, Marlon Williams.
